Synthesizing Percussion
Drums and other struck membranes produce inharmonic partials at specific Bessel-function ratios. A timpani (kettle drum) is the classic pitched-membrane example. Its modes at 1:1.50:1.99:2.30 give it a recognizable "tuned" quality despite being non-harmonic.
