Of Responses & Resonance

Every filter has a frequency response, the shape of what it lets through and what it rejects. Add resonance (high Q) and a peak appears at the cutoff frequency, boosting that narrow band until the filter starts to sing on its own. Resonance makes the filter a musical instrument.
