Synthesizing Plucked Strings

The Karplus-Strong algorithm creates realistic plucked-string sounds from nothing more than a short noise burst fed into a delay line with a lowpass filter in the feedback loop. Each trip around the loop smooths the waveform a little more, naturally decaying higher harmonics faster, just like a real vibrating string.
