Formant Synthesis
The human voice shapes vowels through formant regions, fixed resonant peaks in the frequency spectrum. By running a harmonically rich source through parallel bandpass filters tuned to formant frequencies, we can recreate recognizable vowel sounds: "ah", "ee", "oo", and more.
